Elective Week

So, my elective starts tomorrow, I'm doing experimental drawing. I have been asked to find some examples of drawing that i think is in unusual in the methods or materials used to create. I found quite a few I like. In particular some work of Damien Hirst and Andy Goldsworthy as well as some I found on the google search engine. I'm really looking forward to this week, I'm hoping ill learn new ways of drawing and ways of adapting that to fashion, anyway ill let you know how i get on....Here are some of the drawings I really liked...

The end of an era is the beginning of another....

So, I know we have had this brief for a few weeks, but if I'm honest Ive really not been concentrating on that well. The other project seem to of taken over. Although I do know what I'm going to look at. I'm focusing on the third theme of Cultural Communities and Identity. I'm going to begin by researching this area as a general theme. I have an idea of looking at how celebrity culture influenced times in the 1930s and how it does now. Looking into the effects on society and the way culture is brought together by these factors. The other idea is looking at cultural influences on fashion before Martin Luther King abolished segregation and introduced equal civil rights. Did this have an effect on what people wore? Specifically the new choices black men and women now had. Ill let you know how I get on...

So today was hand in day...I'm so Relieved. I got everything handed in which I wanted and needed too. I haven't yet uploaded photos of my work from this project, although when I get back Ill get a chance and do it. Here is my final lineup which i did on Photoshop. I loved this process and really enjoyed teaching my self new things whilst Bruce was busy!! Hopefully I will of done well when I recieve my Feedback.

Pomme Chan

Pomme Chan

Last night my friend was looking at some of my books, and noticed my interest in illustration, she told me about Pomme Chan. I looked and I loved. His work looks so inspiring and colourful. I think I'm going to get Photoshop, Illustrator...the whole adobe package. Although seen as its so pricey I'll have to lend the money of daddy...lend did i say? I think once I have it my flat mate Boysie will show me the ropes, and then hopefully I can begin to mix hand drawn illustration with techniques on photoshop and illustrator.

*trendboards*

Here is my favourite Trendboard. I forgot to upload them in January with the shop report and the rest of part one of Creative Design Practices....I have only displayed this one as the colours in the other are not working in the web format...sorry guys! I REALLY enjoyed doing these. I had loads of images to put on, but when i began to experiment with layout on Photoshop, I felt it look to overcrowded so I reduced the amount of factors on my trendboards to give them a simple yet effective look...Hopefully Angie and Ian will think so too. DEADLINE TOMORROW!
